BPD in the Community: Turkey All Around! District B-2 Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for Seniors

Today, Tuesday, November 21, 2017, the District B-2 (Roxbury) Community Service Office Third Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon for Seniors. Each year, the B-2 CSO hosts a Thanksgiving Luncheon for community seniors in partnership with the Salvation Army Kroc Center and its culinary program. The B-2 CSO Office raises money throughout the year to purchase food which is prepared by the culinary program. This year, the officers were able to prepare meals for 140 seniors from the Roxbury and Dorchester neighborhoods, and the meals were served by high school youth from the B-2 Police Explorers program.

As you can see from the all the smiles, Boston Police Commissioner Evans, Chief Gross, our officers and officers from the Transit and Brookline police departments, all had a wonderful time getting into the holiday giving spirit!

Investigation Update: Arrest Made in Connection to Death Investigation in the area of 330 Bowdoin Street

At about 2:51 PM on Monday, November 13, 2017, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) responded along with Boston EMS to a call for an unknown medical incident inside 330 Bowdoin Street. Upon arrival, officers made entry and located a deceased adult male victim. A criminal investigation was launched after the death was later ruled a homicide. The victim has since been identified as Nelson Torres-Santa, 55, of Dorchester.

One week later, on Monday, November 20, 2017, after an extensive investigation, members of the BPD Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Homicide Unit were able to identify a suspect. The officers located 21-year-old Thomas Frank Isaac, Jr. of Braintree and placed him in custody without incident. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court where he will be charged with Murder, Armed Home Invasion, and Armed Robbery.

Said Police Commissioner William Evans, "In less than a week, my officers were able to work quickly and efficiently to gather evidence and make an arrest. I'm confident that they've built a strong case that will lead to a conviction of the suspect, so that the public may be assured that another dangerous individual is off the streets."

UPDATE: BPD Officers Arrest Suspect Wanted in Connection to Indecent Assault in the North End

Less than 24 hours after issuing a community alert seeking the public’s help in an effort to identify the individual wanted in connection to an indecent assault in the North End, the suspect wanted is under arrest. After an extensive investigation and thorough review of the facts and circumstances pertaining to the incident, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) and detectives assigned to the Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit located and arrested Isaiah Brown, 26, of Randolph at about 9:00 PM, on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Brown, who is charged with Indecent Assault and Battery and Impersonating a Police Officer, is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Monday, November 20, 2017.

Said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, “I want to commend both my officers and detectives for the comprehensive effort that led to the quick arrest of the suspect wanted in this case. Clearly, the community’s a safer place with this individual off the streets and I hope the residents of the North End can breathe a little easier and take comfort in the fact that this individual is no longer in a position to harm or harass anybody else.”

Facts and circumstances of the original incident are as follows: At about 2:30 AM, on Friday, November 17, 2017, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for an indecent assault in the area of Hanover Street in Boston. On arrival, officers spoke to a victim who stated that she was approached by an unknown individual described as a black make, approximately 5’10” tall, medium build, wearing dark clothing which resembled a security guard’s uniform. According to the victim, the suspect stated that he needed to talk to her about an important issue and that she had to go with him immediately. After following the suspect for a short distance, victim states the suspect stopped and attempted to indecently assault her, at which time, the victim ran away and called police.

The Boston Police Sexual Assault Unit continues to actively review the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with any information relative to this incident is strongly urged to contact detectives assigned to the Sexual Assault Unit at .
